Teaching simple one step instructions:


After the delivery of an Sd in contextually relevant situations, provide prompting and allow a child up to five seconds to respond correctly.  Utilize differential reinforcement.  If the child responds correctly, deliver an identified reinforcer and or behavior specific praise (Or just Bx specific praise if that is an identified reinforcer) If the child errors, provide more invasive prompting to help them be correct- withhold ( or deliver a smaller amount of) the identified reinforcer.  Immediately present another opportunity to practice the same skill with an increased level of prompting to ensure the child is correct.
