The risk of ineffective supervision can include harm to the client, harm to the supervisee, lack of progress, the supervisee not being able to identify ethical issues, lack of reinforcement, poor company culture, supervisees unable to identify ethical dilemas and being able to ask for help, supervisees not being able to problem solve.  If the supervisee has not mastered a skill they may cause harm to the client.  If the supervisor is ineffective, they are modeling ineffective supervisor and the supervisee may also become an ineffective supervisor.
