Tip number 8, which discusses listening, is one of the most important topics in becoming centered planning.  This can be applied to almost every tip outlined by FCP tip list.  By taking the time to listen to what is important, this gives the family the opportunity to be heard.  I would incorporate this tip by asking questions outlined by the tips previously suggested then validate their responses by repeating what I heard.  Not only would I repeat what I heard, but ensure that we are aligned in how we want to address any concerns or actions in the treatment plan.  This could be followed-up on at least once every third to fourth session in order to maintain open lines of communication.
