Involve stakeholders in a discussion of options for treatment procedures.
Refer to research when creating intervention plans.
Alway use the least restrictive procedure.
Create a rating scale for parents/caregivers to rate preference of procedures (“do you feel this intervention is useful”)
Allow parents/caregivers to observe (you can use video, ask client for permission to videotape and use to show other clients the procedure) the procedure prior to being treatment and have them rate how effective they think the procedure will be.
If parents/caregivers will be implementing the procedure, interview them about time constraints, willingness to participate and beliefs about behavior modification.
