There are multiple strategies that can be utilized to reduce destructive behavior during schedule thinning. First, clinicians should be prepared for resurgence of problem behavior during schedule thinning based off of the results from this study. In addition to strategies to reduce harmful situations, clinicians could take a variety of strategies to reduce destructive behaviors. One way to do so takes place during the S Delta. Clinicians could provide access to alternative activities. Additionally, during both multiple schedule components, the clinician could implement a punishment procedure. Another strategy would be to reduce destructive behavioral momentum by decreasing reinforcement during baseline changing the stimulus context in addition to a variety of other procedures and strategies.
