WITH EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES
The participants were two fifth grade boys who were labeled as “emotionally handicapped”. Both students were described as having “poor task engagement skills” one of them was diagnosed with ADHD.
The intervention was to provide the boys with a list of academic choices, they could choose the order in which they finished their work.
The design used was a reversal design.
The results were that choice making increased task engagement for the participants.
