1) Resource equality doesn’t deal with what is equitable, and also doesn’t account for structures that work against the individual. Equality doesn’t always solve the problem, because the individual ability varies from person to person. Whereas equality ensures everyone has the same thing, equity is concerned with each person getting what is adequate for their particular needs.
2) One way I could utilize the practices discussed in the video to promote social justice is to be aware of the assumptions and presuppositions I enter with. Even as a therapist, I am liable to my own prejudgments, and having the mindset to be aware and even corrected when needed is important.
