1. Evaluate antecedents, (what’s occurring during the day or events prior to sleep time) SD’s- discrimitive stimulus (availabilty of reinforcers), Motivating operation (looking at when sleep is most valuable.
  2. To treat teen sleep you may look at how to decrease night wakings, increase overall duration of sleep, and develop healthy sleep routines. The treatment plan must include building rapport with teen for “buy in” (they can undersand how it helps them).  Adjusting daily schedule (what can we change during the day to help them sleep at night) exs. having a visual schedule of day, building in physical activity during day and consistent meal schedule will help ground body throughout day and increase sleep drive and quality of sleep.
