First, provide training to the learner on how to self-monitor. Then, they would wear something that maybe vibrates every 20 minutes and they would be required to make a tally to determine whether they were on-task or off-task.  The teacher would also be on the same schedule and could do the same thing for the learners behavior. Then, the learner would compare their self-monitored time on task to what the teacher reported.
